The work is derived from Lam's behaviour of repeating the recording of the same lyrics with two tape recorders. The lyrics are Frank Sinatra's jazz song I'm a Fool to Want You. The act of repeating the recording of the lyrics has gradually become blurred, shortened and out of sync, and finally unintelligible. The work is finally presented with two identical but blurred and out-of-sync lyrics played on two players each, to express the emotional complexity of the relationship and the limitations of language expression.

In Roland Barthes's A Lover's Discourse, the lover's discourse and insights are fundamentally fragmented and incoherent, and the appearance of semantics will be in vain, and the lover's fragmented discourse will generate various imaginary scenarios. People in love are diverse, uncertain, and fluid. A paragraph of nonsense has become an imaginary without a central meaning and criss-crossing.

I’m a fool to want you。
